FAQs
What is it like? We gather for worship at 11AM on Sunday morning. You can expect there to be music, congregational responses, hymn singing, as well as a scripture, prayers, a sermon (which is a message about where we see God, and what God is up to relating to the scripture we hear and our life and world), and Holy Communion.
Current public health recommendations: wearing of masks protects the most vulnerable, and are encouraged but not required. Please stay home if you are sick. Get vaccinated!
What about children? Children are encouraged to attend worship! We anticipate that children will be children - they will make noise, move around, eat snacks, explore and might sit with a number of different people throughout worship. We usually have a children's time in the service, when children of all ages and stages are invited to gather with the Pastor for a short message together. We also have colouring pages at the back of the sanctuary, and there is a near by nursery room (unsupervised) in the Fellowship Hall if you need a break.
How do I get there? We have ample parking in the lot adjacent the church, including designated accessible parking, as welll as additional street parking. We are located near Winnipeg Transit bus stop, on the Portage-Westwood route (#21 or #11).
What do I wear? Clothes you are comfortable wearing!
How can I get connected? There are many ways to get connected with our community, including speaking with our Pastor, or any one of our members. You can also contact the church office.
How do I give? In weekly worship, we collect an offering - these funds support our ministry including our staff salaries, programs, building upkeep, and support of our wider church and community outreach. You can give through in person by cheque, through our Pre-Authorized Remittance (PAR) program, by eTransfer (messiahdonations@mymts.net - please include name and address in the memo line to receive a tax receipt for gifts over $10) or online at www.canadahelps.org (tax receipts will be emailed to you from Canada Helps).
