Born and raised in Kamloops BC, Pastor Courtenay felt called to pastoral minstry while studying English Rhetoric in university. She graduated from Lutheran Theological Seminary, Saskatoon, in 2010 and was ordained to the ministry of Word and Sacrament later that year. She has served congregations in BC, and Manitoba before beginning ministry with the people of Messiah Lutheran Church in January 2020. What draws Pastor Courtenay to pastoral ministry is the ability to explore with others where and how God is active in our lives and in the world.
Pastor Courtenay is married to Rev. Erik Parker, who serves Sherwood Park Lutheran Church, Winnipeg, and together they have two children. When she is not living her best #pastormomlife, Pastor Courtenay enjoys being physically active, a good cup of coffee, searching for the next great pair of shoes.
